LATMH for Educators

This session will explore how bullying affects young people emotionally and psychologically, and how these impacts often show up in school as anxiety, withdrawal or “behaviour issues” rather than being recognised as trauma. We’ll look at the latest evidence on the crossover between online and in-school bullying, and the signs educators can look for when a student may be struggling below the surface.

We will also discuss the school practices that genuinely make pupils feel safer — moving beyond policy into culture, consistency and relationships. The session will outline practical, research-led strategies for early identification, safe intervention, and supporting recovery, including how schools and parents can work together to rebuild trust and belonging.


Creating Safer School Environments: Responding to Bullying and its Impact

With the release of updated government guidelines for Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE), schools are being asked to address the realities of young people’s online lives in more depth than ever before. Technology and AI now influence not only what pupils see, but also how they think, feel, behave and connect with one another.

This session brings together expert insight and practical strategies to help educators understand and respond to the challenges their students are facing. We will explore:

*   The cognitive, emotional and social impacts of tech and AI on children and teens and how schools can continually adapt.
*   How algorithm-driven and polarised content is shaping attention, focus and critical thinking, with ideas for tackling this in the classroom.
*   The blurred lines between online and offline friendships, relationships and identity, from social media to gaming to AI chatbots.
*   Preparing young people for a future where tech and AI may shape education, work and relationships, while reinforcing their sense of possibilities, choice and opportunity.
*   How a spiral curriculum can support pupils from Year 7 to Year 13 in navigating online risks and opportunities in a way that stays relevant and age appropriate.

Educators will leave with a clearer understanding of how the digital landscape is affecting their pupils, alongside practical approaches for meeting the new RSE requirements in a way that engages and supports the whole school community.


Teaching in the Age of Tech & AI: Supporting Young People’s Digital Lives

This session provides schools with practical strategies for identifying and responding to suicidal thoughts in students. It covers signs of distress, how staff can support struggling pupils, and how to initiate proactive conversations on suicide prevention. The session also explores how to involve parents, respond to incidents within the school community, and manage the lasting effects of such trauma.


Supporting Students: Practical Strategies for Suicide Prevention and Response in Schools

###### This session offers guidance for schools on supporting pupils at risk of self-harm, covering practical strategies for assessment, intervention, and working with parents. It addresses how to manage self-harm situations, identify risk factors, and offer appropriate resources. Topics include coping mechanisms and supporting neurodiverse students or those with other mental health difficulties.


Young People who Self-Harm - Help for Schools

This online session is for teachers, practitioners and support staff and will provide advice and guidance on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) within a school or college setting. We'll discuss aspects of ADHD and how to support students with motivation, planning, procrastination and emotional overwhelm. We'll also talk about teachers can react and respond to disruptive and oppositional behaviour in class with teen ADHD'ers.
