Every bank investment case makes a promise, but few teams can confidently say which assumptions that promise rests on. Cases get sent back for rework and decisions stall – exactly what organizations cannot afford in the age of AI.

As banks invest in projects today (including AI adoption), the cost of not understanding the few critical factors that drive outcomes rises. Uncertainty is higher, and the impact arrives sooner. A high-confidence yes-or-no decision matters more today than ever.

This conversation draws on interviews with more than a dozen current and former senior bankers at global and regional banks, and on lessons from industries that make high-stakes bets as a matter of course. You'll learn:

*   **Why** the business case approach in many banks is flawed and how a different approach can inspire confidence among teams and decision-makers;
* **How** to identify the critical few assumptions or issues that matter the most and how to address them ahead of time with a test-and-learn approach; and
* **What** banks can learn from other high-stakes industries that routinely have to de-risk big bets before committing capital.

For the teams who build, sponsor, or review investment cases.
