8 YEARS OF GDPR: Anniversary reflections, AI disruption, Digital Omnibus, and what’s next

Eight years after the GDPR came into force, organisations have moved beyond understanding the regulation to the harder challenge of applying it consistently in a complex environment.
Much has changed since 2018. AI is shifting how personal data is used across businesses, often in ways that do not sit neatly within existing frameworks. At the same time, the proposed Digital Omnibus package aims to simplify aspects of the GDPR, but it remains unclear how this will play out in practice.
As a result, organisations are facing increasing uncertainty.
In this GDPR anniversary session, our specialist DPO panel will explore these key areas:
· Where organisations are most exposed and how expectations are changing
· Whether the proposed Digital Omnibus will help or add further complexity?
· How AI is changing risk and what it means for compliance
· Whether current privacy approaches are fit for what’s ahead
