From Live Data to Asset Model
The most requested topic following our first TDengine Free Tier Workshop was clear: before building dashboards and using AI, teams need a strong data foundation.
In Session 2, we’ll build that foundation together. You’ll see how to connect live industrial data through OPC UA and MQTT, configure data collection and tag mapping, and turn raw tags into a structured equipment and asset model.
During this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to:
- Connect live OPC UA and MQTT data sources
- Configure data collection and tag mapping
- Store incoming time-series data in TDengine
- Organize equipment into an asset hierarchy
- Create attributes and add operational context
- Prepare the data for dashboards, events, analytics, and AI
- Apply the same approach to other common industrial data sources
No previous TDengine experience is required, and you do not need to have attended Session 1.

Pursuing a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology and holding dual Bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science and Chemistry, Arun brings expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and industrial data solutions to drive TDengine’s solution engineering efforts. Prior to joining TDengine, he worked as a Software Engineer at C3 AI and Meta, and served as Head of AI at Soundromeda, where he led the development of advanced AI-driven applications. He is currently based in California, USA.
