A focused session for Family Hub leads, early help and commissioning teams

Best Start Family Hubs are expanding fast, but too many still live as a single page buried deep in a council website that families struggle to find. With reach and accessibility now central to how hubs are judged, this session asks a simple question: is a page on the council site enough, or does your hub need a home of its own?

We'll be covering:

  1. The findability problem 🔍 - why families and professionals often can't locate hub services when they need them most.
  2. Council page vs independent site ⚖️ - the real pros, cons and costs of each approach, with no jargon.
  3. Accessibility and inclusion ♿ - meeting WCAG 2.2 standards and reaching families who need support the most.
  4. Branding and trust 🤝 - how a distinct, welcoming identity encourages families to engage.
  5. Getting more from your funding 💷 - making the most of Family Hub investment through better digital reach.
  6. What good looks like ✨ - real examples of hubs that got their web presence right.
