This is session 2 of 3 of The Nature Intelligence Edge — a three-part series for environmental consultancies.

If you missed Session 1 (The nature questions your clients need you to answer), the recording is available on demand. Session 3 (26 May) covers winning and delivering nature mandates — including tender language and partnership models.

Don't forget your FREE downloadable resource: The Practical eDNA and Bioacoustics Sampling Guide

Environmental DNA is fast becoming the standard for credible, site-level biodiversity evidence. But for many consultants, eDNA and other technologies like bioacoustics are still a black box — something clients are asking for, but harder to specify, recommend, or scope with confidence.

This session opens up the science. Hosted by NatureMetrics' consultancy partnerships lead and Head of Conservation along, with the ecology team in the Q&A session, we will walk through exactly what eDNA and bioacoustics produce, when to deploy them versus conventional methods, and how the outputs translate into decision-ready client deliverables.

By the end, you will know how to recommend eDNA and bioacoustics appropriately, how to scope it into a project, and how to present the outputs to clients and regulators with confidence.

What You Will Cover

  • How eDNA and bioacoustics work — the journey from water, soil, or air sample to species insight
  • What you actually get back: species lists, richness scores, IUCN red list overlaps, trend data, and platform dashboards
  • When eDNA and bioacoustics outperforms conventional surveys — and when to use both
  • The five sample types and which habitat contexts each is best suited to
  • A real-world worked examples: 70% more species detected, 67% reduction in staff costs versus conventional methods

What You Will Take Away

Your Hosts

Laura Plant, Consultancy Partnerships, NatureMetrics

Chris French, Head of Biodiversity, NatureMetrics

Supported by the wider NatureMetrics ecology team in the live Q&A

The 25-minute presentation will be recorded and available on demand after the event. The Q&A session will give you the space to ask questions freely. Questions can be submitted in advance if preferred by emailing
