Teenagers with ADHD often face pressure to achieve academically, socially, and across extracurriculars with a brain that works in a fundamentally different way.

This session discusses how achievement expectations can impact young people with ADHD, even when they seem to be coping, and what signs might suggest they’re becoming overwhelmed. We’ll look at how parents and teachers can offer encouragement without unintentionally adding pressure, and which practical adjustments genuinely help teens manage school demands, including those who don’t want to appear “different.” We’ll also discuss how families can build both confidence and resilience in teens who may feel behind or out of step with their peers, helping them understand their strengths and develop a healthier sense of self.
