Agent Builder Workshop

This workshop walked through the foundational components of HubSpot's Agent Builder and the new Workflow Builder before delivering two live demos and a self-directed breakout session. Product Managers, Rebecca and Davis, established the three pillars of custom agent design (instructions, actions, and knowledge), outlined when to use Agent Builder versus MCP/CLI, and positioned the new Workflow Builder as the future of automation with action-first building, object-agnostic flows, and expanded external triggers.

The centerpiece demos covered a customer health scoring agent that grades companies approaching renewal and writes results back to the CRM, and a contact ownership handoff agent that synthesizes unstructured context for the incoming owner. Both were wired into agentic workflows with branching logic, Slack notifications, task creation, and fallback handling. The session closed with four self-directed breakout exercises targeting lead qualification, demo prep, deal risk summaries, and sentiment handoff, supported by a shared workbook (found here after submitting the survey: )
