Interplay of Geopolitical Risk and Third-Party Risk Management

Matthew worked as a director, senior consultant, and analyst at four risk and investigations companies: The Risk Advisory Group, Livingstone, Veracity and FTI. He has led projects in various global regions and co-developed a security risk analysis platform.

Andrew McBride is the former Chief Risk & Compliance Officer of Albemarle Corporation. Andrew has over 25 years of compliance experience, working in the Americas, Europe, and Australasia. During his time at Albemarle, Andrew built a new ethics & compliance program against the backdrop of a Foreign Corrupt Practices Act investigation. In September 2023, the investigation was resolved by way of a Non-Prosecution Agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice and Cease & Desist Order with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Albemarle secured a 45% ($81m) reduction in penalty due to its cooperation with the investigation and the compliance program that Andrew built, the largest FCPA % penalty reduction to date. In recognition of these efforts, Albemarle was awarded Compliance Program of the Year by Compliance Week in May 2024. Prior to Albemarle, Andrew served as Associate General Counsel Compliance for BHP and Senior Antitrust Counsel for BP.

Olivia Allison has more than 15 years’ experience carrying out complex, international investigations and supporting the development of integrity and governance for state-owned companies, international companies, and international financial institutions (IFIs). Before joining PRISM as a Senior Advisor, she was a Senior Managing Director at a global investigations consultancy. Prior to that, she was a partner at KPMG, where she set up and led the Forensic team in Kyiv. She has led multi-year, complex, cross-border fraud and corruption investigations—both in support of international disputes and as part of internal corporate investigations. She has acted as an expert witness in international arbitration on matters relating to anti-money laundering and financial crime in Ukraine. Olivia has also been recognised by Who’s Who Legal for her asset tracing expertise. Olivia is also an Associate Fellow at the Royal United Services Institute.
