Adam Wood

Adam Wood

Chief Commercial Officer - Barbourne Brook

Adam Wood is Chief Commercial Officer at Barbourne Brook and the firm's front face to its clients and partners. His role is to listen by staying close to the people Barbourne Brook works with, drawing out the consistent themes and emerging trends behind their day-to-day challenges, and turning those insights into practical solutions and services.

Before joining Barbourne Brook, Adam spent fifteen years working for large banks and insurance firms across the UK and internationally, specialising in risk consulting and helping major institutions identify, measure and manage exposure across complex, highly regulated operations.

His move into customs six years ago brought that risk discipline into a field that had long been treated as a purely transactional, back-office function. Adam saw an opportunity to innovate. Rather than the traditional “one and done” model of customs consultancy, where advice is delivered against a single problem and the relationship ends, he has championed a holistic approach: treating customs and trade compliance as an ongoing risk to be managed across the whole client journey, not a box to be ticked once.

That philosophy now runs through Barbourne Brook's client model, combining technical customs expertise with the structured, preventative mindset of risk management to help clients reduce duty cost, strengthen compliance and build genuine resilience into their supply chains. Adam’s deep understanding of the business landscape and commitment to innovation make him a key driver in supporting clients to achieve their objectives.
