Wendi Norris

Founder, Gallery Wendi Norris

Wendi Norris is the founder and head of Gallery Wendi Norris, a leading international, San Francisco-based art gallery that champions visionary artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. Wendi and her team are grounded by decades-long relationships with these luminaries, representing artists whose nomadic, intuitive, and intellectually rigorous practices interrogate the aesthetic, scientific, and philosophical movements of their time and whose work flows across disciplines, continents, and generations. Since establishing the gallery in 2002, Wendi has curated over 150 solo and thematic exhibitions. Under her direction, the gallery has published 20 monographs and exhibition catalogs; hosted dozens of artists’ symposia and scholars’ discussions; and carried out multiple poetry readings and film and dance productions, inspired by these artists’ work. In addition, she is regularly invited to speak about the Surrealist movement, the global art scene, public art, art and technology, and women in the arts. She served four years on the board of the Art Dealers Association of America. She holds an MBA from Georgetown University and a BA in International Relations and Spanish from The Ohio State University.
